I'm not as familiar with Spillane as I'd like to be, but I do love noir and P.I. stories. I should take this opportunity to get to know him.

Listening to Sonny Rollins's Saxophone Colossus the other day, I realized one of the tunes was used for a TV version of Mike Hammer. I just read Spillane's obit, a neat coincidence.
