Stompin Tom can't handle smoke-free gig

Check out this curiosity from the Globe & Mail. It seems Stompin Tom has turned down an opportunity to play with Blue Rodeo at the Horseshoe because neither he nor the audience can smoke there now. Stompin Tom once played something like 25 nights in a row at the Horseshoe back in the 70s. I recommend the film Across This Land, the 1973 Stompin Tom concert film from the Horseshoe. Fans of Mr. Connors may recall his toast to the Horseshoe from the album, Live at the Horseshoe...Here's to a pitcher of beautiful water from the Horseshoe Tavern of course, but it ain't the shoe they strain it through, it's another part of the horse.

foot update

My heel......feels much, much better today. I think there are two problems going on, planter fasciitis and tendonitis. I have a history of planter fasciitis which was doing very well before I went crazy working on the patio (without my orthodics in....I must have thought I was 25 and invincible).

I did something bad to my right heel a few days ago. Naturally, I've been ignoring it, but this morning, I could hardly put weight on it and it has been pretty bad all day. I will take the usual guy approach and continue to ignore it for another day or so. It isn't really swollen, so I'm hoping that means I didn't break a bone..... going to have to hold off on finishing the backyard project until this gets a bit better.
