Wal-Mart must pay workers $172m

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers: for those of you who think there is no cost to low prices, have a look at this. Wal-Mart has been ordered to pay $172 Million in compensation to workers who were refused lunch breaks in California. The retailer was breaking state law by refusing to give employees an UNPAID 30 minute lunch break if they worked more than 6 hours.

Wal-Mart is appealing. You can make a difference by simply shopping elsewhere. It's OK to pay a little more.
