The Wire
A while back, Tuffy P and I started watching The Wire on DVD. Tonight, we watched the last episode of the last season. About all I can say is Wow!

have you watched "Deadwood"?
Oooh goodcall on the Deadwood. Fantastic series. Someone else had recommended The Wire as well (SME?) - I have to get around to watching it soon. Perhaps after the Sopranos.
I haven't seen Deadwood. I watched The Wire on the recommendation of friends, and realized from the get-go it was something very special in terms of characterization, writing, and complexity.
Yeah, I need to see the Wire. I have heard great things too.
Yea! Glad you liked it...and its a special show because every season has its own flavour and keeps going strong. I never got tired of what they worked on...no jumping sharks etc
(I am a huge DEadwood fan...and we want to someday buy the boxed set...comes in a morgue drawer...of "Homicide". "Homicide" is same writer as one of the WIRE guys...)
There you go Mr Anchovy. Three recommendations for Deadwood. You want characterization and complexity? Deadwood is your next series!
Al Swearengen is The Man....
HUGE language warning though
I just watched the last episode of the last season as well. Wow is right! It was a brilliant series.
THE WIRE is just as good or better than Homicide series!!
