Ron Lancaster RIP

I don't usually write about sports figures here at Mister Anchovy's, but when I heard that Ron Lancaster died the other day at 69, it brought back memories of my childhood. As a kid, I used to really love Canadian football, and back then, Mr. Lancaster and his friend George Reed were big names coming out of Regina.

I've long since lost interest in football, Canadian or otherwise, but I still remember those larger-than-life figures from our past.

Ron Lancaster RIP

This was one of the leading stories on the local news last night and this morning here in Edmonton. Sad day in Canadian sports.

I remember him too...yep having the game on when a little kid. Sad. It's strange how some voices are part of your childhood.
