The Good Thief

Movie night at Chez Anchovy. The Good Thief, directed in 2003 by Neil Jordan, stars Nick Nolte as a down-on-his-luck former thief turned gambler/junkie, who makes one more try for the big score. Set on the French Riviera, this heist film oozes style. Nolte's performance is very compelling, the story sufficiently complex, and the ambience intoxicating enough to make for a thoroughly entertaining evening. Pass the chips.

On the 5-fish anchovy rating scale, I'm giving this film 3 3/4 salties.

I've been debating watching this - I detest Nolte but absolutely LOVE Tcheky Karyo... not sure what to do.

I think you should watch it. I think you can detest Nolte and still like this film.

I like Nolte - so will look for the movie. Got a mini-flu so movies will be nice with orange juice.
