Our dear old cat Twiggy died today

Back in 1992, when Tuffy P was looking for a cat, our friend Mike (aka East Texas Red on this blog) brought her Twiggy. She was a barn cat back then, at least a couple years old, and I think she had had one litter of kittens.

Twiggy had an independent spirit - sometimes she was known around here as Supreme Commander of the Universe, Goddess of War. She loved water. When I had a little pond out back, she love to stand in the water bashing bubbles with her paw. She loved to purr. When we took her to the vet, they always had difficulty hearing her heartbeat over the purrs.

In her day, she was the best mouser, a mighty huntress.

Twiggy had been slowing down for some time, and as well here eyes were clouding up as she was losing her vision.

I dug a cat-grave for her in the back garden and we buried her in her favourite cardboard box. We're going to plant catnip there.

Bye Twig.

P.S. - I just caught up on your earlier posts somewhat - I think you will have a fitting burial place for Twiggy - in a lovely garden - who could ask for more?

I'm so sorry to hear about Twiggy. The photos are lovely and I get a real sense of a grand cat from those pictures, living quite a wonderful life.
My sympathies go out to you.

I'm so sorry to hear that she's gone, Mister A. However, at least her last resting place is a spot she loved to spend time in. My heart goes out to you and Tuffy.

This is such sad news, Mr A and Tuffy P. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sounds like lil' Twiggy was a fab feline, with a glorious personality. I'm sure she'll be sorely missed.

This sucks, guys. I know we all know it will happen sometime, but it's just so damn shitty when it does. And so soon after your last loss, too. The catnip plant is a great tribute.

So sorry to hear about Twiggy, Mr. A. She sounds like a great cat. That picture of her in the sink reminded me of Boswell...he does the exact same thing.
