Who is Bob Tedrow?
Check out this video about Bob Tedrow, Alabama concertina-maker extrodinaire. You can also check out his website.
I don't play a concertina....although many Portuguese people call the 3-row button box I play a concertina. One day though, I'll pick one up.... not yet though. Also on the list is clarinet!

Dude has got mad skills. Thanks for sharing, and as for the clarinet, if I did not have an under-bite. I guess I'll have to stick to the harmonica.
I tried more than a few times to leave a comment the other night. There was no word verification showing up, and it refused to take my comment.
I saved my comment in Notepad, because I'm cool that way. Here's my comment...:D
I honestly did not know that there were so many types of clarinets. I
started playing woodwinds A LONG TIME ago in a public school in Indianapolis, IN. My family didn't have the money to buy a clarinet
for me, so I rented an ancient metal clarinet from the school. It was a great instrument -- virtually indestructible. It was a one-piece
kind of thing, except for the mouthpiece. The case was long and
skinny, but bulky for a 9-year old girl walking to school with a stack
of books.
After a while, we moved and I played in the Ben Davis Marching Band in Indy (we were famous as a marching band back then). There were just too many clarinets, but not enough saxophones, so I moved to tenor sax.
Then, there weren't enough tuba players, so I gave that a try. Honestly, I wasn't too bad at it. Most of the time I did better than
the guys who'd been playing for a long time. One of our band directors was a tubist, and he was demanding, but when I could play the high notes the guys couldn't, he was a bit impressed (he smiled). Nothing like a strong embouchure! Heh!
I would love to own a nice clarinet. They have a beautiful sound, but I also love my tenor sax. It's just more fun for me to play because it's got a sexier sound to me (I don't care for soprano sax though -- not sexy AT ALL, and Kenny G makes my stomach churn).
Thanks for an interesting post. Alabama is right there by Tennessee, and we lived there for 9 years.
Love the blog, and just keep writing about what you love. I enjoy learning new things from Mr. Anchovy!
P.S. The word verification that just showed up is "ppykuswr". That just looks WRONG!
My favourite sax player has to be Ornette Coleman, whose music is so inventive, vexing, melodic in ways I never expect, personal....in fact when I started thinking about learning an instrument, I seriously considered alto sax, but decided on button box instead because the free reed instruments are so self-sufficient.
