Any zinnia experts out there?

I accidentally ate Zinnia once. Does that count? The leaves, that is. They ended up in a salad, cause they were growing right beside the basil, and the amateur cook couldn't tell the difference.

I love these flowers...Stagg thinks maybe he brought Tuff P some one time...

I bet these will grow all over your garden. I have a black thumb, though what do I know. Are zinnias flowers you can eat in salad on purpose?

I don't know how edible they are...you can eat nastursiums and they are very good...and zucchini flowers are very good too...

I'm not an expert because I was never much of a fan. I do like them, but I'm a perennial gal and will always chose perennials over annuals (dahlia being my exception -- and they're really a perennial if over wintered properly). My sister planted zinnias in the garden. They did well everywhere. You can plant them from seed. Sow them directly into the soil and they'll do fine. They also do well in containers so you could have some on the patio if you like.
