Transfigured: Jack Shadbolt's paintings animated

This site features clips from Transfigured, an animated short from 1998 by Stephen X. Arthur. Jack Shadbolt is a painter whose work I have admired as long as I can remember. Here are some links to other sites featuring his work:
National Gallery of Canada
Hirshborn Museum
MacKenzie Art Gallery

I only met him one time. Tuffy P wrote him a letter and invited him to join a group of us for lunch. He accepted next time he was in Toronto. While enjoying a martini, Mr. Shadbolt sat back and told us incredible stories. What a delightful fellow, and what a great painter.

Those are really quite funny. What a way to react to a painting, make it a cartoon, I love it. It reminded me of the weird Bugs Bunny when he goes into Dali-land. Was it Bugs or Daffy? Maybe it was Daffy Duck.

It seems that Shadbolt loved it too.
