Thomas Kinkade subject of an FBI Probe
via Cynical C
This is from the LA Times:
"The FBI is investigating allegations that self-styled "Painter of Light" Thomas Kinkade and some of his top executives fraudulently induced investors to open galleries and then ruined them financially, former dealers contacted by federal agents said."
As a painter, I consider Mr. Kinkade to be sort of the leader of the axis of painting evil.....

I can't stand his stuff.
Generic hotel lobby painting
I had to go look him up because I wasn't familiar with him. His work looks like the visual equivelent of elevator music.
The painter of light can be put to delighful use. I think he's a hoot.
Oh my God, this made my day. I start to dry-heave when I pass his storefront in the mall. In fact, it's Kincaide's fault I avoid the mall. Just kidding...it's just bc the mall sucks. Anyhow, his Christian facade hides a greedy, shady faux artist. His dim-witted cult following fills me with rage.
From the Guardian (back in June):
"Two former employees, Terry Sheppard and John Dandois, told the panel of further examples of Kinkade's unpredictable behaviour: bringing disorder to a Las Vegas performance by the illusionists Siegfried and Roy by repeatedly yelling the word "codpiece" from his audience seat, and urinating in public - in an elevator and on a model of Winnie the Pooh at a Disneyland hotel. "This one's for you, Walt," Mr Sheppard claimed the artist said as he did so."
Come on he can't be all bad! (how could you not love him a teeny bit)

try this one
or this one"
or maybe this one
or perhaps this one
Well, maybe Thomas Kinkade will be happy to ponder...maybe there really IS a god....ha ha ha ha this is delightful!!!!!!!!!
One word....
KARMA!!!!!!!!!
Kincade creates insipid, unsophisticated art for insiped unsphisticated people.
He makes Norman Rockwell look avant garde. (please don't take this as a knock on Rockwell, whom I love. No 20th century painter understood the color of light or used it so well as Norm.)
