They polka in Mexico too....and Texas too


Now let's compare the Polish-American polka to its Mexican cousin. Here is the Melinda Polka, by Conjunto Bernal. The Mexican Polkas are typically lighter and airier than the Polish variety. The lead instrument is the 3-row diatonic button accordion, modified such that the bass reeds are removed. Enjoy (and add some multinational polka action to your music collection).
