St. Louis museum won't return burial mask to Egypt

"The St. Louis Art Museum is keeping a 3,200-year-old Egyptian mummy mask, saying it has not yet seen proof that the piece belongs to Egypt."

Hmmmmm....they know the mask is Egyption...they even know where it was unearthed. I wonder what the museum thought when they bought the artifact from an art dealer?

The Emperor of Ephemera remembers -way back in the mullet years called the 80's The Chicago Art Institute (aka the toot) was caught with an "artifact" from the Asian areas. It was juicy reading the up n backs between the wanters and the holders. Anyhoo I should remember who wound up with the piece but I don't because many objects are looked at as exotic and it used to be that every thang had itz own meaning whever it is was or will be. Lots of Native Americans make the point of -how would you like it if your relatives were constantly being unearthed!
