Rahsaan Roland Kirk

My friend Vox introduced me to Roland Kirk some time ago. Everytime I go back to his music, I'm reminded what a fantastic multi-instrumentalist he was. His playing was entertaining, imaginative, and so full of life. Here are a few videos I grabbed from YouTube. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

When I say multi-instrumentalist, did I mention he can play them all at once?

Here he is with Buddy Guy and Jack Bruce Sorry, I can't embed this one.

And finally, Bright Moments

Mr. Kirk was born in 1935 and only lived until 1977. He was a player with a rich and restless imagination. Kirk even played what I guess you'd call a nose flute, at times one for each nostril. Delightful stuff.
