Nathan Abshire

There is not a lot of video footage out there of Nathan Abshire, who lived from 1913-1981. I think he was a fantastic player. Here he is playing and singing Jolie Blon:

The music sequences were filmed at Fred's Lounge in Mamou Louisiana.

I've posted this next clip once before. I don't know if any of you will recall it. The clip is filmed in a school setting. It begins with Dewey Balfa playing a tune with Zydeco great Rockin Dopsie. Then Mr. Balfa asks the kids in the audience a few questions, and finally, plays Jolie Blon with Mr. Abshire. All these guys are gone now, and this is a remarkable clip. Enjoy.
