Have any of you received....
...an email from some character offering to pay bloggers for publicizing things? Since I'm not interested in earning money from this here blog, I politely declined, but I'm curious how common this is?
If the guy had looked at my hit counter, he could have quickly deduced that all but a small circle of friends have abandoned this blog (I guess I haven't been posting enough accordion videos). I don't think he'd get very good value for his money. For a while, my audience was expanding but lately my hit count has crashed big time.
Maybe it was something I said.
The fellow did however, mention that he thought mister anchovy's was one of the best blogs in Canada, causing me to immediately assume he was a grifter, a rounder of the worst order.

Did he send you an actual email or leave a comment? I get comments like that from time to time and I always ignore them. Usually, they say "love your blog" blah x3...I've had various people contact me to advertise on my blog, and one even pays me (Food Buzz on ReTorte). One I thought was a decent social networking site (The Experience Project, as seen on I'm Listening and ReTorte) that I don't mind having a badge on, but that's it. I've never had anyone ask me if I'd like to blog for money, though.
I still read regularly, BTW! I have everything on Google Reader now, though, so unless I comment (yes, I'm terrible, and I apologize) it wouldn't show up on your counter.
He sent me an email.
I haven't received anything like that, but my spider sense says it's probably some sort of scam. Or, maybe I'm just cynical.
I've received several emails from folks that supposedly want me to try their product and review it on my blog. One was for an anti-tic cream for Tourettes. I don't think so!
