Dog and Cat Trivia


Dogs have about 100 different facial expressions,
most of them made with the ears.

Pollsters say that 40% of dog and cat owners
carry pictures of the pets in their wallets.

Cats have over 100 vocal sounds,
whereas, dogs only have about 10.


Q: What composer is the favorite among dogs?
A: Poochini.

Q: What do you call a cat that sings just like Pavarotti?
A: Mewsical.

Q: What do you call a cat that meows all night and loses its voice?
A: Mewtilated.

I am constantly amazed at the variations in the tones of the cats' voices. I sometimes wonder if they communicate more with tone than with meow meanings. You know what I mean hopefully. I sound crazy often as I talk to them in cat language. Or at least they respect my attempts and do respond.

Gardenia, my cat looks at me in disgust when I try to communicate with him in cat language. It's as if he's thinking, "Such a limited vocabulary, such a terrible accent... Just shut up already!"
