Feast for the Bears

This is my neighbour's yard. A bear did that to the fence a couple of nights ago, seeing a feast he couldn't resist.

The neighbours are morons.

This unattended apple tree is a huge no-no here in bear country. It is not hard to spend a few minutes cleaning up the dropped apples, and a few more to pick them off the tree. Then you don't get bears breaking your fences, and you help prevent bears from roaming around your neighbourhood and town by eliminating attractants.

It makes me angry that people do this. It's pure laziness. I wonder if the neighbours are the type of people who believe bears are dangerous and should be shot on sight. It wouldn't surprise me.

Awwww, I can see that round bear working to get over that fence, then having an apple feast. So, you live in an area where wildlife roams about ? I remember the bear in Wyoming cemetery walking about on his hind legs like he was visiting and paying respects to a dead ancestor.

you'd think the neighbours would learn about bears quickly and make the necessary adjustments!

This morning, the fence is even more broken and there are just a few apples left on the tree and fewer under it. There is also an enormous pile of bear poop near the tree!

I don't think your neighbours think much about it at all.
I hope this doesn't end poorly for the bear because it will return. Remember "a fed bear is a dead bear."
