Traffic - movie review

Not recent - this one came out in 2000. Somehow we ended up with it on DVD. It won 4 Oscars if you care about that.

The website serves up keywords: Cop / Exploding Car / Drug Addict / Multiple Story Line / Marijuana . That sums it up.

The website has a tagline too (wouldn't it be great if we all had personal tag lines?): No One Gets Away Clean

Potential for disaster: has Michael Douglas in it.
Overall though, the acting isn't bad. Well, except for the Catherine Zeta-Jones character, but that might be the writing more than the acting.

Message: Drugs are bad; the war on drugs is futile;families are important.

Directed by: Stephen Soderbergh.

Overall: Good actioner, decent script, well filmed.

mister anchovy says: on the 5 anchovy rating scale, this one gets 3 1/4 salties.

I thought this one was okay. I didn't love it love, so I think you rating is about right. I usually really like this director a lot. Meanwhile his BRILLIANT Solaris died in the theatres right around the time this was getting Oscars.

The original Brit version is much better. (but then I really really really hate Michael Douglas)

Yeah, I liked this. i'd go a bit lower than you on the score: maybe around 67 out of 100, off the top of my head.

I haven't seen it, but would like to. I loved the British version it was very good. It's worth checking out.
