I can't imagine choosing an all-time favourite (or favorite) author. There are too many to choose from.

yeah, thats tough, but if I had to, it would be Dickens. Twain and Hemmingway would be a close battle for second!

I must have been having a bad day: I meant to write "I can't imagine choosing an all-time favourite (or favorite) artist." (not author). Both would be hard to choose.
