Amazing Rye Crackers

We made rye bread the other day, and while we were making it, noticed a recipe for Rye Crackers on the back of the Bob's Red Mill Organic Stone Ground Dark Rye Flour bag. Naturally, we had to try them. Ok, we'll fess up now and say we ate most the the batch, and started immediately making more for our friends. The recipe looks like this:

1/2 cup unbleached white flour
1/2 cut bob's dark rye flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (we didn't know what that was, but we did have some organic sugar and it worked just fine)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons caraway seeds (or go to town with them if you love them)
4 tablespoons margerine
3 tablespoons milk

mix together dry ingredients and seeds. WORK in margerine until fine. STIR in milk. FORM into ball and roll out to
1/8 - 1/16 inch between waxed paper. CUT into desired shapes, prick with fork and transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. BAKE 400 F for 5-6 minutes until lightly browned on edges. COOL on rack. EAT them up or STORE in airtight container.

These rock the free world.
