Miller support sinking

A new Ipsos Reid poll finds Toronto Mayor Miller's approval rating at only 29%. At the same time, provincial Minister of almost everything George Smitherman stopped flat-out denying he was interested in the job. I hope that if Smitherman runs, John Tory chooses to back away and continue to pursue his talk radio career. This won't all shake down until sometime in the new year, but the players are starting to jockey for position already.

The Mayor dismissed the polls, but these results must be alarming to him and his team. It will be most interesting to see the moves he makes in the coming months.

Do people actually vote in municipal elections there? Hardly anyone seems to bother around here. But they sure do complain as though they had.

Participation is low here too.
