I was asked for an update....

...on the newest member of our family. So let me introduce the Super Madame, made by Paolo Soprani in Castelfidardo Italy. It's a 3/4 size 120 bass 3-reed model. The strange round things on the face are mutes. The lever in the middle adjusts them open or closed. I've never seen this feature before. It's a beautiful small accordion with a nice rich sound.

I bought it from Musical Instruments of Canada, a shop run by a very knowledgeable and pleasant fellow named Rudy De Florio. His store is located on Eglinton Ave near Oakwood in Toronto. When you walk up the stairs from the street, it is like entering another world, accordion heaven. There is rack after rack of every kind of accordion you could think of, and in the back, a workshop where repairs and tuning are done. It's a fantastic place for your friendly neighbourhood accordion freak.
