sick Spud

Spud, one of our cats, has an upset stomach. It could be anything. She stopped eating for a day and took to hanging out in the basement. We were worried she may have swallowed something like an elastic, but an X-ray didn't show anything. Tonight I had to give her something to coat her stomach and a food slurry syringed down her throat. Hopefully, she'll be back in good form in a day or two.

I hope so, too!

I hope she's feeling better now. It's always such a worry when your cats get ill.

Spud's still not well. We've been giving her a food slurry and medication by squirting it down her throat with a syringe. Not sure what the problem is yet, but hoping it's not too serious. I'll keep you updated.

Hope she's OK too. Please toss out all the elastics--they can be fatal to cats.

Based on the X-ray, we don't think she swallowed any objects. It doesn't appear to be any poison either. It could be a virus, or it could be she has some kind of mass causing the problem. She's going back to the vet on Monday and she'll stay there all day. We might have a better idea what's wrong then.
