Quiet in the streets

...in my "little Portugal" neighbourhood in Toronto, as Germany knocked Portugal out of the Euros. The fellow across the street still has his 15 foot flag nailed to the roof

That was most surprising. I would have thought for sure Portugal would go through. What is it about the Portuguese team, eh? They play some of the best football in the world, yet they are constantly denied. I felt a bit bad for them. But since I have German blood in me veins, I shouldn't really complain too much, eh?

Croatia-Turkey tonight. I rather fancy Turkey...

I agree with Red as well. Where did the Germans come from? I was ready to have to console my friend once the Portuguese kicked their ass. However, after 27 minutes it was 2-0! As Figo's not playing for Portugal this year, I'm not upset they lost - I can't stand Ronaldo. Sure he's a great player but I find him annoying. As for the Croatia-Turkey game today...I'm going with Croatia. They're on fire.
