Elvis on TV?

Elvis Costello is coming to the small screen, as host of his own talk show, produced by Elton John (?) Mr. John said, "Elvis Costello is the foremost expert on popular music. I thought it would be sensational to use his knowledge and intelligence to explore the artistry of musicians and other fascinating people involved in making great music, as well as true music aficionados." Well, I guess if he IS THE FORMOST EXPERT on popular music, he's the right guy, eh?

I recall being very enthusiastic about Mr. Costello's first two or three recordings, back in the day, but I pretty much lost track of what he has been up to after that.

Yeah, the first three Elvis albums were good (at the time, anyway), but I have zero interest in him now. In fact, I remember hating some of his later music, like Everyday I Write the Book.

If you stopped listening....You've missed some of his most incredible writing and music then...
I think a music talk show with him will be pretty interesting. He is fairly savvy about a lot of music...maybe not as savvy as me, but darn close...

Well, it's like this Candy. I tried to keep listening. Over the years, I read some good reviews and listened, but it just wasn't incredible to me. I found myself disappointed and that bugged me at least a little, because I was so fond of the early stuff, and I really wanted to like his continued work. I respect and admire that he did what he pleased rather than what was expected of him, but finally I really lost interest. It's funny because I'm usually the guy who enjoys the work musicians do after their so called heydays. I'm about as apt to watch Mr. C's talkshow as I am to watch anybody else's though. I think the last talk show I watched regularly was Tom Snyder's Tomorrow show. Har!
