Michelle Shocked

We're going to see Michelle Shocked Tuesday evening at Hugh's Room. I'll post a review Wednesday. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Michelle Shocked. It's been quite a number of years since I saw her play in Vancouver with Candy Minx and the Underground Baker, and I'm really looking forward to it, especially at such a fantastic venue.

I bet you are going to have a fabulous time.

I hope the Hugh's Room venue gets rid of all those pesky tables so you can dance!!!!

haha, I was just thinking about how much I like that venue because of the tables, and in my mind I was comparing it to seeing Nick Lowe a while back, at a bar where everybody had to stand up.

I haven't heard the name Michelle Shocked is, like, a decade. Is she making new music?

If I heard her and did not see her I would swear she had to be black - great blues voice....again, thanks for the introduction to another musician! I loved this video - her voice! Anyway, you guys have a wonderful time!

hey Gardenia, if you like the way Michelle Shocked sounds, a really good place to start is with Short Sharp Shocked and also with Arkansas Traveler. Both are brilliant, delightful and full of surprises too.

Although I figured she was, I am glad that you confirmed that Michelle Shocked is still making music. I remember when she was getting some airplay on MTV with the video for "On the Greener Side". From what I recall, the video spoofed Robert Palmer's videos (with male models in place of the female ones).
