Food

This is a modification of a photograph I took on the Upper Michigan Peninsula last year. I loved the generic announcement: food. We've got it - you've found it. I skidded to a stop at the side of the road to take this picture.

That's a good sign ;D

Of course, I had lunch there. As I recall, the placemats had pictures of the graduates of the local highschool on them.

Lunch was pretty good, so if you're driving along the road that runs along the Lake Michigan south side of the UP and you see a sign that says food, I recommend making a stop. I don't recall what the nearest town was, but it is for sure east of Rapid River.

A sign for a modern day Oliver Twist!

Ha, coming 2,000 miles down from Wyo. I was looking for those signs!

Stopped in the Ozarks after catching a whiff of barbecue, but would have had to wait two more hours for it to be done enough to serve.

Stopped one place in upper Texas, so poverty stricken that hamburgers (delux, yet) were selling for $3.50 still.

I'd stop there... especially now that I'm living in a state of perpetual hunger! The things we do to fit in a bikini...

I remember the sign from last year when I started reading this blog. It reminds me of a movie called They Live (cheezie John Carpenter film, but I love it). The hero discovers these glasses and when he puts them on he "sees through" the advertising billboards and what is revealed is a simple word in black and white, the advert is gone.

I would stop as well for a sign that just said "Food". What more could you ask for?
