A Blast from the Past

Here is an old painting I did in the mid-80s. I have no documentation of the title, and I don't remember it, so I call it the Unknown Painting. It's oil on canvas, about 6' wide. This painting has a frame on it with a strip of a decorative rope moulding on the front which I incorporated into the painting, which is lost in the photo. It also has a really rich, scraped and burnished surface that doesn't reproduce well. It is only hinted at the way light reflects off the surface. I still have this one in storage after all these years.

Cool painting. It kind of has that 2001 monolith vibe to it, but at the same time looks a little like a coin stood on its edge, perhaps caught mid-spin. Or is that just me?

It reminds me of a king stone...

This is lush - I wish to see it in person. It takes me to a quiet serene place where I can contemplate the painting. It's a meditative painting. Do you use palette knife and build layers,,,,again, I wish to see them. This one is so primal to me, As I look I see the beginning of time, a womb, and a new life forming.........hmmm, this is my third favorite!

If I am correct you painted this around the time of The Listening Machine right? in fact, I would have guessed that was it's title...?

I'm starving, btw I'm on my way to your place in a few minutes!
