everything you ever wanted to know about hippy-dippy VW camper-vans

I always thought one of these would make a fabulous fly-fishing mobile...you could rig a rod-rack in the back, a little camp stove, all your maps, a fly tying desk..... Tuffy's not impressed.....

Jeez, I go away for like a month and a half and everything changes! This is the 3rd of my regular blogs that have changed templates! I like it, and the new sidebar organization (and not just because I'm near the top!).

Tuffy is just wrong on this one. An old VW microbus, especially one with a pop up top, is just perfect for traveling to your favorite fishing hole or concert. Arrive late at night, sleep a few, open up the side door and cast. Of course, you bring a fly fisherman and all, you might want to step outside before you cast!

P.S. If you ever want a microbus, there is a dealer in Pontiac MI who deals in nothing but vintage VWs

I love VW vans, had a bit of experience with them. My advice...buy a manual! heh heh! You'll need it, but if you can learn to play an accordiaon I am confdent you can learn to fix a vw van.

What happened to the idea of a Wayfarer with a subuaru engine?

I must say, a van of any colour would make a nice ride to memphis!!! Etc....
