Three Restaurants

I just enjoyed a couple of Yung Sing's fabulous pork buns a couple weeks ago. I hadn't been there in years, but it still rocks.

It was really nice to read those articles. I was going to ask James Bow a question, but I forgot. Remember for years we always heard Murray McLaughlin lived upstairs from the Canary , and he still is rumoured to be up there. Crazy to think how much time I've spent in all three of those places. We used to go to Yung Sings just about every weekend. It was valuable when in art school and gallery hoppping on cold days...I remember some bad days of gallery hopping weather with you mister anchovy, and then having those nice warm meat stuffed buns. When I'm in Toronto, heh, I half live at the beach, riding my bike down around Commisioners Street, going for major days at Leslie St. Spit to the lighthouse, and once w eek Dolly and I would get tea and sit on the beach at Cherry Street...so the Canary Grill is often a featured pit stop.

I had to stop going to the Mars either hang over breakfasts or nightclubbing re-fueling because who cana ctually afford to eat there? Yeah, no surprise, politicians heh heh.

I'm not sure if they still do it this way at Yung Sing's, but they used to make the buns in a room accessed by a square hole in the wall at floor level, and trays of these things were handed out to the small retail area. I really liked the fact that the whole setup wasn't at all slick.

I agree about the prices at Mars. They are out of this world. Remember Sunday breakfast with Scott and Jill? I really enjoyed those - at Kos for a long time, and other places too.
