The west side of Toronto, where I have always lived, is a wonderfully ethnically diverse area. A lot of the street shrines around here are from the Portuguese community, and remnants of the Italian community that used to predominate....it's for sure a Catholic thang. My family were Catholics too, Polish immigrants who settled in Parkdale....but I don't remember the shrines from the old Polish hood (Galley Ave, Sorauran, etc).

OMG!
If I just took a walk up the street right now, I would get about 30 photos at least!
Why do you think this is?

That was what I'd thought, too.
