Zydeco Fish thinks Canadians have accents, eh
....so he posted a website that features canucks from different regions reading passages in the same book, so that you can compare one Canadian to another. I used to think that Canadians simply didn't have accents, that we spoke English as it was intended, and everybody else spoke in different dialects.

That's pretty much what I used to think too. I guess we were all wrong.
Here I thought it was Lopers who had no accent!
That's pretty cool...but I've always been of the belief that there are dialects down to areas of Toronto.
People from the beach use different phrasing and pronounciation from say, People from Little Italy or High Park. People who grew up in Little Portugal have intonations that hint at their first language, but then so do those in High Park and Little Italy.
It's interesting to be sure.
