Santa Claus Blues

Yes, Christmas time is sneaking up on us. Here's a little something from Champion Jack Dupree, one my favourite boogie-woogie piano players. This is posted on Big Rock Candy Mountain, an excellent music blog. The Christmas blues I like best of all though, was a bizarre tune recorded by Sonny Boy Williamson. It's all about how he just wanted to find his Santi Claus, when he was caught by the law, with his hands in his baby's dresser drawer....

I had it on vinyl...the same record that had the version of Little Village with all the takes and swearing....and gave it to my friend Stan a while back....at a certain point, every time I tried to play vinyl, my cats would attack the turntable, so I reluctantly moved over to CDs....Stan is the beneficiary of my old blues on vinyl.

Big Rock Candy mountain is putting up Christmas stuff pretty much every day...you might find something there...link is on my sidebar. cheers
