Sacred Steel Instrumentals

Short CD review:
The Staggman sent us a CD called Sacred Steel Instrumentals, on Arhoolie. This CD features lap and pedal steel guitars in the gospel steel guitar tradition. This CD is mixed - some cuts are much, much better than others, but overall, if you like the steel sound, Sacred Steel Instrumentals is a good start. This music has mostly been located primarily in the church. More recently, some of these players have broken through to an audience grounded in the blues rather than gospel.
