You know, I'm all for progress..but I feel for the small business owner who is going to get the shaft while construction is on.
I go to Eden Restaurant regularly, and when construction starts, I'll not bother because I have enough stress without going out and looking for it through driving and parking problems.

I think you're right about that, Radmilla. The whole deal will be tremendously disruptive. If this project goes through, it will also change the whole dynamics of the street. I fear it will be more of a corridor and less of a community. At the same time, I agree that we need to find ways to enhance transit in our community.

The real solution might be a subway, but I say that all of the time. We need a subway to York U and a subway to the airport. I am still amazed that the city built a subway the wrong way along Sheppard, to Ikea. That is daft.

Tuffy P and I were just talking about that, Zydeco. While I'm sure there are plenty of logistics problems around building a subway, they meet the goal of separating the transit from the traffic, they are fast and efficient.....and at the same time, I suppose new subway lines would cost us plenty.

I find it ironic that they built a sheppard line in the first place.
Especially Sheppard East from Yonge to Don Mills.
If they built it west to Jane it would have made sense.
Residents of Willowdale and Bayview village don't need a subway line, except perhaps for their housekeepers and nannies to get to work.
