Gates Oldtimers Orchestra, on break
Gates Oldtimers Orchestra, at least the one of the future, doesn't actually exist yet. We went for a late breakfast this morning to Easy, an excellent all-day breakfast place on Queen West, a few buildings from Roncey. After breakfast, (and before a side-trip over to Czechowski's on Queensway for our Kielbassa supply), we stopped into a few of the antique / bric-a-brac shops on Queen. There, in front of us was this delightful Gates Oldtimers Orchestra drum. We needed it because, um, well, we just needed it, that's all. Also pictured is my Corona II and my banjmo (which is a combination mountain dulcimer and old-time banjo). All we need is the orchestra. I'd love to play with some other folks one of these days!

looks to me like you have the makings of a one man band!
I was thinking of a foot-pedel for the bass....then if I put some shakers or bells on my other ankle, I could have percussion to go with the button-box.....you might have something there. Last night, I was watering the garden and the folks next door were having a little party. Somebody leaning over the low wall that divides our properties said, "are you the guy who plays the accordion?"..... well, it doesn't take much to get me started! I hopped over the fence with my trusty button box.... Soon, there was some Portuguese dancing, and yes, I did have a beer or two.....
LOL.... that is why I love beer!
