rethinking the 80s?

Tuffy P and I landed at Hugh's room tonight for a retro show, featuring Martha and the Muffins and Parachute Club. Wow, those are two bands I really underestimated. Both remain remarkably funky with depth I didn't think was there. The show was loads of fun, and so was the company. For the politicos in the crowd, Jack and Olivia were there, Jack sporting nice suspenders and very, very good posture. Perhaps there is an election in the near future, hmmm.

Jack is one classy looking guy, that I'd have to admit. As for the 80's, I'm still having trouble giving up the 70's!

I used to LOVE Parachute Club and Mama Quilla...but that Lorraine Sagato has a voice for sure.

I think that Jack would increase his odds if he shaved off the hair on his upper lip.

I vaguely remember Parachute Club, they got some public radio air play here, I believe because of their association with Daniel Lanois.

It is amazing how much better some of these 80's, early 90's band are as nostalgia acts then they were in their heyday (seen Cheap Trick lately?}

Sorry, Greatwhitebear....for the benefit of our Americano friends, Jack is none other than Jack Layton, leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada - they are way left of either of your major parties.
