The Voice of Hockey: Foster Hewitt - Sports - CBC Archives

When I was a kid, my dad used to say, "What do you get when Foster Hewitt and his son Bill go to Johnny Bower's place for dinner?"

"The father, son and the goalie host"..........that cracked me up when I was 7.

Foster Hewitt and Dan Kelly, along with Bruce Martin, my all time favorite hockey voices!

I liked Danny Galavan too, in Montreal. He had such a flowery way of expressing himself....like, "he failed to negotiate contact with the puck"...and he invented terms like the "savardian spinnerama"....great fun

Yeah, it always bugged me that Pat Foley pilfered the "spinarama" thing from Galavan
