The Da Vinci Code - A Review of Sorts
I belong to a book club with a few people with whom I work. I suggested the last book, Moby Dick, because I had never read it and I was up for a good adventure story. I had expecting it to be a yarn as fascinating and tangled as Conrad's Lord Jim, but in fact I (and everyone else in the club) found it just about unreadable. So this month, when two people suggested we read The daVinci Code, I wasn't in a position to argue. I read it, and unfortunately, it was a waste of a perfectly good secret society conspiracy theory. Here's my recommendation. If nothing will do but you need to read a bad mystery novel, go read a few Kinky Friedman books. At least they're amusing. (mister anchovy is getting grumpy)
