Two Centuries of Soft Hackle Flies

Another hero of flyfishing literature is Sylvester Nemes. Mr. Nemes re-popularized traditional soft-hackled dry flies, and demonstrated how effective they can be in 'matching the hatch'. His series of self-published books on the soft-hackle are all beautifully photographed and written with passion. Nemes is still with us, and still chasing trout. My friend Mike had the good fortune to meet him recently, in the mountain west.
