Hammond B3.....

On the weekend, I drove to Port Hope to see a Hammond B3 Organ. This one has been sitting unplayed in a garage for 10 years. It originally came from a church in BC where it was built in to a console. It had been painted red and yellow, as had the Leslie speaker that was sitting beside it. The owner said it had been working fine when it was last played. It was a beautiful old instrument, sitting there in need of a home. I had no idea how much work it really needed to get it ship-shape. It would never look swanky like the ones in the picture here....but it would look funky, and with a little tender loving care, maybe it could play jazz once again.....
