CBC News: Prince is top concert earner for 2004
I guess in the next week, we are going to be innundated with the year's best's, worst's, most's and so on. This one interested me. Prince has re-gained his name, put together his own internet distribution system, and is playing up a storm. This tour was billed as the last one in which he would play his old hits...maybe that is what got so many people out. Or maybe it was simply because the guy knows how to put on a show. I was at the first of two shows at the ACC, and although I'm not the biggest Prince fan in town, I have to say it was a fantastic show - great music by great musicians, and a lot of fun too. Later in the year, when I attended the James Brown show at Massey Hall, it became clear to me that as an entertainer, Prince learned at the feet of the master. Both shows had a lot of drama, loads of musicians, plenty of interaction, a history of great songs, and dancing, dancing, dancing.

I'm a huge Prince fan.
His whole image persona thing is a little off putting, but, Prince represents a whole era and time in my life.
Also, let's face it...he's got the funk.
Besides, he lives in Toronto now...we've adopted him.
