Leger quote

I saw this quote by Fernand Leger on the Ronald Bloore website: "Everything that I painted between 1902 and 1908 was destroyed along the way. It was the most difficult period of my life, but I guess that all painters have to go through it. It is the time when you're under the influence of something; then comes the transition period, and the creative part."
- Fernand Léger
I feel better now, after the day I experienced in the studio on Sunday. I have a group of small paintings on the go, 10 of them, and by the time I left, I had all but obliterated 9, convinced of the impossibility of painting. Knowing that Leger managed to obliterate several years of painting gives one hope.
